Source: Zavier Gozo close to Palace move from Salt Lake

Crystal Palace is set to strengthen its squad with the anticipated signing of Zavier Gozo, a 19-year-old wing-back from Real Salt Lake. Sources confirm that the Premier League club is in advanced discussions with RSL, with an agreement likely to be reached in the next 24 to 48 hours.

The transfer fee is expected to be around $15 million, and Gozo is scheduled to travel to London on Friday following the finalization of the deal.

Promising Young Talent

Gozo, who is part of the United States youth national team setup, has garnered attention as one of the most promising players in Major League Soccer (MLS). During the current season, he has made 16 regular season appearances for RSL, contributing six goals and five assists. His noteworthy performance also earned him a spot in the MLS All-Star Game held in July.

New Beginnings at Crystal Palace

Upon joining Crystal Palace, Gozo will be working under the tutelage of new head coach Pierre Sage, who took over the managerial position in June. Sage succeeded Oliver Glasner, who led the team to success by winning the UEFA Conference League last season before moving to Nottingham Forest.

With his transfer, Gozo will join USMNT defender Chris Richards, making him the second American in this season’s Palace roster. This move highlights the growing influence of American players in European football as the FIFA World Cup 2026 approaches.
