Man City sign Mathys Detourbet, 19, from fellow CFG club Troyes

Manchester City has officially signed forward Mathys Detourbet from Troyes, a fellow club within the City Football Group. The French club made the announcement via X and their official website, although they did not disclose the financial specifics of the transfer.

According to sports daily L’Equipe, the 19-year-old forward was acquired for around 25 million euros, equivalent to approximately $28.5 million. Following the signing, Detourbet is set to be loaned to AS Monaco for the upcoming season.

Detourbet has been with Troyes since he was eight years old. He played a significant role last season, contributing three goals as Troyes secured promotion from Ligue 2 back to France’s top flight.

“Troyes is particularly proud to have supported Mathys’ growth both as a player and as a man,” the club expressed. “We wish to thank him for his commitment and professionalism during his time with us.”

Troyes is among 12 clubs that are either fully or partially owned by the City Football Group, with Manchester City being the flagship club.

Since its acquisition in 2008 by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a deputy prime minister of the UAE and a member of Abu Dhabi’s royal family, City has seen significant investment and growth. The City Football Group was established five years after the purchase.
