Paris FC add Mali’s Lassine Sinayoko to fuel PSG rivalry

Paris FC has officially signed Mali forward Lassine Sinayoko, boosting their lineup and increasing their summer transfer expenditures to over €65 million ($74 million). The club, which is mainly owned by France’s wealthiest family, the Arnaults, is making a strong statement this offseason.

So far, Paris FC leads the Ligue 1 spending spree this summer as they prepare for their second consecutive season in the top division. Last season, they delivered impressive performances, finishing ahead of their rivals, Paris Saint-Germain, in both the league and the domestic cup.

Sinayoko’s Impact and Contract

Sinayoko, 26, has signed a three-year deal with Paris FC. The club did not disclose the transfer fee paid to Auxerre, where he showcased his scoring skills by netting 12 league goals last season. Reports suggest that the transfer fee might be around €8 million ($9.1 million), a move that reflects Paris FC’s ambition as they strengthen their squad.

In addition to Sinayoko, Paris FC has made several notable signings this summer, including teenage midfielder Patrick Zabi from Stade Reims, Italy defender Diego Coppola from Brighton, and winger Pablo Pagis from Lorient.

Coaching and Future Aspirations

Under the guidance of Liam Rosenior, who briefly managed Chelsea last season and previously worked with their sister club Strasbourg, the team aims for a more successful campaign. Paris FC finished 11th in their return to Ligue 1, but with new additions and a revamped coaching staff, the team is looking to climb the standings and make an impact in the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026.

Sinayoko’s experience is also noteworthy; he has played 30 matches for Mali and scored 10 goals, including a commendable three in each of the last two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, where Mali reached the quarterfinals.
